Panama La Esmeralda


Arguably the most famous coffee farm in the world, Hacienda La Esmeralda is famed for its multi award-winning coffees  and has set many auction price records. The land comprises several hundred hectares in what are now the Palmira and Cañas Verdes farms. These farms are located in the highlands of Boquete—a town renowned for the quality of its specialty coffee. It includes majestic rock mountains, native vegetation, lively creeks, 12-foot native shade trees, a diverse bird population and views of Volcan Baru—the highest point in Panama.

This particular coffee is from the Palmira farm, which specialises in the Catuai varietal and is indigenous to the region. It is well-loved for its nuanced brightness and clean cup. Coffee cherries are selectively picked and undergo careful processing protocols.
